What will you be doing?

We’re looking for a talented Communications Specialist to join our team to help us drive impactful communications initiatives that elevate our brand and engage our internal and external stakeholders. 

The ideal candidate is curious and adaptable. He or she has started to build their writing and design skills but now wants to expand his/her communications capabilities further.  

A glimpse of your esponsibilities: 

  • Create engaging content (both written and visual) for a variety of communications channels such as intranet posts, employee profiles, infographics, social media posts, blogs, customer stories, website copy and press releases. 
  • Support Alfen’s social media presence by creating posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments or messages.  
  • Help coordinate events, including photo and video shoots, as well as tradeshows and speaking engagements.  
  • Track and analyse communications content for impact such as website traffic, social media engagement, and email open rates. 
  • Monitor media outlets, social media platforms, and online forums to track mentions of the company, industry trends, and competitor activities. 
  • Provide administrative support, including organising files, photos and documents on our Teams channel, as well as translating, distributing and/or posting content. 

What are we looking for?

You have a very good command of both Dutch and English, as you work on internal and external communication.  

 You are the specialist in creating creative content, but you can also deliver a good design in Adobe.  

The best candidate will have: 

  • a Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field  

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a communications role, preferably in a B2B environment 

  • skills in managing social media platforms and using analytics tools to measure performance 

  • can collaborate effectively across teams, deal with different stakeholders and show initiative to learn  

  • prioritise well and work with deadlines, you will work on multiple projects simultaneously  

  • can cope with an entrepreneurial organisation in which your adaptability will be called upon  

  • a creative mindset; proficient in MS Power Point and familiar with design and client programmes (such as Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, as well as Mailchimp and HubSpot)
