Senior Electrical Engineer

As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will be using your skills and knowledge for all our three business units; Smart Grids Solutions (SGS), Alfen Charging Equipment (ACE) and the Energy Storage Systems (TheBattery). You are the expert together with the other members of the Electrical Engineering team. Besides working on technology development and new product development, you are also an advisor for Electrical Engineering questions. Therefore, not only R&D colleagues, but also people within the business units can come to you for help.
Furthermore, the following tasks are part of your job description:
- Electrical power calculations, simulations and studies like loadflow, harmonics, transients, short-circuit and arcflash;
- Creating conceptual designs of electrical components and electrical networks;
- Dimensioning and selecting electrical components;
- Capturing (general) electrical design rules and transfer this knowledge into the organization;
- Doing failure investigation;
- Involved in the preparation of Electrical (type) tests and making analyses of the test results;
- Participating in the development of (product) standards.

What you bring with you:
You are genuinely passionate about working in an R&D environment, and you possess significant experience in high-voltage and low-voltage electrotechnical products. We are seeking for an hands-on engineer who is not only an expert in the field, but also knows how to communicate on a high level with internal and external stakeholders. Moreover, you identify with the following qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering;
- 5+ years work experience in designing electrical engineering products and networks;
- Practical knowledge of simulation and modulation tools, such as; Power Factory, Vision, ETAP, PSSE and Matlab;
- Convincing attitude towards internal and external stakeholders;
- Experience with failure investigation and problem solving;
- Knowledge of (international) law and regulation standards within the field of Electrical Engineering.
