To be able to achieve our ambitious growth, we are going to take our supply chain to the next level. Until recently, we handled the supply chain activities for our three different business units separately. From now on, we would like to centralize these activities. In order to make this happen, we created a new department, which automatically also results into new positions. Therefore, we are seeking for a highly skilled people manager with relevant experience as a Supply Chain Operations Manager.
What are you going to do?
As SC&OP Manager you have a key position in the new Alfen Supply Chain team. The goal is to shape the future for the SC operations (warehousing and distribution) team which will be in the heart of our supply chain. Moreover, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our supply chain operations to ensure smooth and efficient operations, from procurement to delivery. Next to that, you will be responsible for overseeing Alfen’s entire supply chain (operation) for all the business units, developing strategic plans, and implementing best practices to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction. To achieve all of this, you will work closely with the supply chain peers and Product management, S&OP, Sales, Marketing and Operations to determine the optimal approach /allocation of sources for customer demand.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Creating a vision with your team for the future warehouse and distribution setup for the Alfen group;
- Taking a lead role in the transformation and customization of the future model and be a change agent;
- Implementing processes, tooling and operating models to support the future model (eg WMS, TMS, MHE etc);
- Managing the day to day Supply Chain Operations together with your team (warehousing, transport, back office etc);
- Leading the development of dashboards, scorecards and reports that drive insights in collaboration with the Master Data Manager;
- Focusing on execution, network, infrastructure, inventory management, contract negotiations when applicable together with your peers.

In the role of Supply Chain Operations Manager you have a strategic view and the necessary experience to make to translate the corporate strategy into concrete plans, as well as the right skill set to execute the plans. Moreover you are a real people-manager. You have excellent communication skills to convince people and make sure everyone is aligned. Besides that, you have the ability to understand a challenge and the problem-solving ability to getting things done.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile.
- Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant specialism
- At least 10 years of working experience Sc operations
- Strong track record logistics operations and change management
- Experienced in tooling for warehousing (WMS) and transport planning
- Good understanding of English written and spoken, Dutch is beneficial
