The electricity grid of the future
As part of the programme to electrify its vehicle fleet, Stedin has installed charge points for electric vehicles at various Stedin locations in the Netherlands.
Alfen supplied an energy system that combines a charging hub, energy storage and sustainable production at the Cars Jeans Stadium of ADO Den Haag.

The rapid increase of intermittent renewable energy is putting an increasing pressure on global electricity grids. To make power grids more resilient to external influences, Alfen is launching a new solution: A platform that allows local parts of the grid to disconnect from the central grid and self-heal.
Alfen has won a tender to supply the European Commission offices in Brussels with charging equipment for electric vehicles (EVs). Alfen will also provide its online management tool for real-time insights in charging behavior and remote control of the chargers.
To proactively solve the issue of having a shortage of EV charge points, various entrepreneurs in the Dutch Twente regions joined forces. This resulted in the STEK project, short for (in English) STimulating EleCtric transportation, an initiative started by the Green Business Club Twente.
