Employment conditions

Alfen recognises labour relations as a cornerstone of its responsible business practices. This includes collective bargaining, freedom of association, social dialogue, works councils, and employee participation rights. These elements shape employment conditions and ensure employees are informed, consulted, and involved in decisions affecting their work. 

Freedom of association and collective bargaining are legally protected in all countries where Alfen operates, with collective labour agreements in place in the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, and Spain. 

Alfen’s approach is guided by the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Local labour laws and agreements provide minimum requirements for employment conditions. Compliance to these requirements is overseen by Alfen's HR.
