What will you be doing?

As a Project Manager at Alfen, you will lead and execute complex ESS projects from start to finish. Our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) play a crucial role in stabilizing the electricity grid, supporting renewable integration and enabling a reliable, future‑proof energy supply. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, international customers and external partners to deliver successful, high‑impact projects.

Your responsibilities include:

• Delivering project objectives in line with contractual agreements, and taking action when deviations occur.
• Leading and attending project meetings, maintaining strong client relationships and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitoring, managing and developing project planning, forecasting, budgets, quality and safety.
• Leading project teams and ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Managing the full project lifecycle—from Sales handover to commissioning and handover to Service.
• Coordinating the development of technical documentation, including schematics, drawings and specifications.
• Providing timely, accurate reporting to internal stakeholders.
• Identifying, analysing and resolving issues throughout all phases of the project.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Project Manager with a hands‑on, structured and results‑oriented approach. You are comfortable working at different levels within an organization, know how to build stakeholder alignment and are motivated by impactful technical projects in the ESS domain. You bring:

• A completed Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing and executing (international) technical projects.
• Experience in a technical project environment; experience with Energy Storage Systems (ESS/BESS) is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• A VCA VOL certificate (or willingness to obtain one) and familiarity with NEN 3840 / NEN 3146 safety standards.
