Field Service Technician - Finland

What will you do?

As a Field Service Technician (kenttähuoltoteknikko), you are Alfen’s first point of contact in the field. You will perform maintenance on our systems and resolve malfunctions on-site. Whether it concerns energy storage systems or transformer substations, – you will ensure everything is restored quickly and safely. You will collaborate closely with our Support Engineers and document your activities accurately to support continuous service improvement.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

• Performing annual maintenance according to schedule and contractual agreements.
• Diagnosing issues, replacing components, and restoring systems.
• Conducting visual and physical inspections and measurements.
• Collaborating with Support Engineers to resolve malfunctions efficiently.
• Reporting used parts and logging fault data in the service management system.
• Maintaining a well-equipped service van with tools and spare parts.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and customer support.
• Complying with safety regulations and reporting incidents.

What do we ask of you?

We are looking for a technical professional with a hands‑on mentality and a solution‑oriented approach. Additionally, you should have:

What you bring:

• A completed bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Electrical Engineering or
• A successfully completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship successfully
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering projects, preferably in energy storage or high-voltage systems.
• S2 electrical certification
• Experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens) and embedded software.
• Knowledge of electrical installations at both low- and high-voltage levels.
• SFS 6000, Low voltage electrical installations
• SFS 6001, High voltage electrical installations
• SFS6002 (Electrical Safety Card)
• Occupational Safety Card
• Tukes recognised safety training
• First Aid Card (EA1)
• ID06 Card
• Construction Site ID Card (Valtti Card)
• A valid driver’s license (B).
• A Good command of English.
