Alfen supplied a 1MW (1MWh) energy storage solution to Nurmon Aurinko, a large-scale energy project and Finland's first large-scale solar park. Nurmon Aurinko has (in collaboration with Solarigo) developed a solar park previously at the site of the food company Atria.

The energy storage system offers balancing services supporting the central Finnish electricity grid (FCR-N) and optimises the output of the local solar park. In addition to supplying the energy storage system, Alfen also installed a local micro grid and the local grid connection.
