What will you do?

As a Senior Software Test Engineer ACE at Alfen, you will focus on developing and improving advanced software testing solutions for the energy transition. You will work on cutting-edge technologies such as fast-charging stations, energy storage systems, and smart grids. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will test complex software solutions and help deliver high-quality, reliable products that meet customer needs and market demands.

You will be involved in projects like AFIR and other leading initiatives in the sector.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Developing, defining, and executing software test plans for embedded software, control technology, electrical engineering, and hardware.
  • Leading the development of software test environments and setups, guiding the assembly of test setups and instruments.
  • Performing software tests according to established protocols and methodologies, analyzing results, and reporting findings.
  • Advising on software solutions based on test results and contributing to product design improvements.
  • Enhancing software testability and advising Business Units on necessary testing tools.
  • Mentoring and instructing less experienced colleagues, ensuring knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Representing the department in multidisciplinary projects and overseeing the technical progress of software development.

What do we ask of you?

We are looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer with a hands-on, results-driven, and structured approach. Someone who communicates effectively at all levels and gains support for technical solutions and innovations. Additionally, you should have:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in software testing, preferably in embedded systems or power electronics.
  • Availability for a minimum of 32 hours per week.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience with test tools and test automation is a plus.
