Mega-Energiespeichersystem SolarGlobal

The Czech company Solar Global has commissioned Alfen to supply a 1 MW energy storage system for the solar park Prakšice in the Czech Republic. The system will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2017, making it the first large storage system in the Czech Republic.

Solar Global develops and maintains solar photovoltaic (PV) farms and PV rooftop PV installations and is currently responsible for approximately 100MW of capacity. As Solar Global wants to play an important role as a pioneer in the energy transition, the company is investing in an innovative energy storage solution that will initially be used for energy trading. As the market evolves, the system is also ready for other applications, such as providing network stability. This project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.

František Smolka, CEO of Solar Global comments: "Energy storage will play an important role in the widespread introduction of renewable energy. With this project we are preparing for the future and I expect to implement many more of these systems in the region. "

Andreas Plenk, Global Sales Director for Energy Storage at Alfen adds: "In close collaboration with Solar Global, we have assessed the optimal configuration for the local situation. Our modular and standardized storage system allows us to deliver and deploy our solution within a short timeframe to the Czech Republic. "
