First customers are ordering Alfen’s Twin 5 Plus with dynamic QR codes and transparent pricing

The Netherlands, 08 May 2024 – Following the release of Alfen’s Twin 5 Plus, a public EV charging station that’s fit for the latest EU regulations, early adopters have wasted no time embracing the future of EV infrastructure. One of the first customers to lead the way is Den Hartog Charging, a forward-thinking Dutch company keen to comply with the newly-adopted AFIR regulations with its order for 100 Twin 5 Plus EV chargers.

Den Hartog believes that sustainable mobility is the key to a healthier planet and the charge point operator (CPO) is determined to do its part in this mission.

“As a pioneer in sustainable mobility, we’ve always pursued innovation and progress,” says Tim den Hartog, Commercial Director at Den Hartog Charging. “Therefore, we’re happy to be one of the first to procure Alfen’s Twin 5 Plus EV charging stations to comply with the latest European regulations. We always strive for the best product to be future-ready.”

As AFIR regulations went live in April 2024, Alfen released the Twin 5 Plus as its premier EV charger for business and public users. To comply, this double socket model offers a full color LED display with dynamic QR codes for safe and reliable identification and price transparency in line with the latest EU regulations.

These regulations make driving electric more attractive throughout the continent by increasing the availability of chargers, simplifying the charging process, enhancing safety and ensuring transparent pricing to achieve the EU’s increased climate ambitions for 2030.

Den Hartog is actively involved in both public and business charging, providing their clientele throughout the Netherlands with alternative fuel solutions. Their initial purchase of 100 Alfen Twin 5 Plus chargers is a milestone for both companies, with construction on the first units in our production facility starting in May.

Ready for the demands of modern EV infrastructure, the Twin 5 Plus comes with ISO 15118 communication capabilities and is prepared for bidirectional power transfer. It meets both current technology needs and is future-proof to support the next waves of innovation in EV charging.

“In the spirit of partnership, sharing knowledge and collaborating, we engage closely with our clients to ensure we meet their needs,” remarks Bart Stroot, Sales Manager at Alfen. “It’s gratifying to see customers like Den Hartog and leading CPOs embracing our new Twin 5 Plus to pioneer the public EV charging market, where it’s crucial to offer the latest innovations for our customers to stay ahead.”
