Field Service Technician - Belgium

What will you do?

As a Field Service Technician, you are Alfen’s first point of contact in the field. You perform maintenance on our systems and resolve issues on-site. Whether it’s energy storage systems, transformer stations, or charging solutions—you make sure everything works quickly and safely again. You collaborate closely with our Support Engineers and keep accurate records of your work to help us continuously improve our service.

Your responsibilities include:

• Performing annual maintenance according to planning and contractual agreements.
• Diagnosing issues, replacing components, and restoring systems.
• Carrying out visual and physical inspections and performing measurements.
• Working with Support Engineers to resolve faults quickly.
• Reporting used parts and registering fault data in the ticketing system.
• Keeping your service van well-equipped with tools and spare parts.
• Identifying improvement opportunities in processes, products, and customer support.
• Complying with safety regulations and reporting incidents.

What do we ask of you?

We are looking for an independent, solution-oriented technician with a customer-focused mindset. You are flexible, accurate, and communicate well with customers and colleagues. Additionally:

• You have a completed technical degree (MBO 4 or TSO/BSO level) in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical field service role within a B2B environment.
• Knowledge of or experience with power electronics.
• A valid driver’s license B.
• VCA VOL and NEN 3140/3840 certification, or willingness to obtain these.
• Good command of Dutch and English; French is a strong plus.
• Willingness to work in shifts (weekend/evening) and travel internationally (mainly Belgium and neighboring countries).
