As a Sr. Power Electronics Control Engineer you will work within our R&D department for the product line “Energy Storage System” and strengthen the New Product & Technology Development.

How do you make an impact as Sr Power Electronics Control Engineer? 

As a Sr. power electronics control engineer, you are responsible for conceptualizing the power processing architecture, designing the controllers, and prototyping efficient and reliable power processing systems to build innovative products like mobile and stationary battery energy storage systems (BESS). You will collaborate with your power electronics team members to oversee the control aspect in grid-connected and off-grid battery systems. In this role, you will coach project members in diverse, projects regarding power electronics and control.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop control architectures and algorithms for power electronic systems to ensure stable and optimal control performance of our products;
  • Utilize simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent to model, simulate, and analyze power electronics systems under various operating conditions;
  • Optimize control algorithms for efficiency, grid stability, and operational reliability while considering stringent industry standards and regulations;
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers fostering a culture of mutual trust and innovation;
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to address and seamlessly integrate all aspects in the design process, including control, EMC, DFMEA, functional safety, etc;
  • Stay updated of the latest advancements in power electronics and control techniques, applying innovative solutions that address challenges unique to battery energy storage.

This is what you bring to the team

For this position, we are looking for someone with a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving. Moreover, you identify with the following qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field;
  • 3 + years of experience in control design of power converters. Experience in control of grid connected converters is a plus;
  • Strong understanding of control and dynamics of power electronic converter based systems;
  • Experience with hardware design and testing, real-time control implementation, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation is a plus;
  • Highly motivated, pro-active and good communication skills.
