In cooperation with the University of Arnhem and Nijmegen (HAN), Alfen delivered an energy storage system to enable a fully sustainable power plant at the university’s terrain.
Various renewable energy sources are connected to this energy storage system: solar PV panels, a wind turbine and a biodiesel generator. This combination forms a large sustainable power plant, with the energy storage system at its heart. Key components of the energy storage system are the ESI inverters, battery packs and a high-tech management system.
The Alfen energy storage system can be used in both off-grid applications, often in combination with solar or wind energy, and in on-grid situations for applications such as load balancing, energy trading and frequency control.
