Alfen receives keys for its new contemporary headquarters and production facility in Almere
Almere, 26 February 2024 - Alfen, a leading provider of energy solutions in Europe, celebrates receiving the keys for its new 24,000 sqm headquarters in Almere. This milestone marks a significant step forward in expanding our production capabilities to address the growing demand for transformer substations, essential components of robust electricity grids in the Netherlands, Belgium and beyond.
The facility, strategically located in the De Vaart business park, entails a big new production space dedicated to accelerating the manufacturing of transformer substations. Alongside this, our new headquarters incorporates 3,700 sqm of office space designed to accommodate 300 colleagues.
A+++++ energy label
In line with Alfen's commitment to sustainability, the new headquarters earned an impressive ESG score, accompanied by the esteemed BREEAM sustainability certification and an A+++++ energy label. The environmentally friendly design aligns seamlessly with our overarching strategy to lead the industry in the transition to net zero.
Alfen is grateful to GARBE Industrial Real Estate Netherlands and De Vries en Verburg for their collaborative efforts to bring this exciting project to fruition. The collaboration resulted in not only a production facility and warehouse but also a modern office space that mirrors our dedication to innovation, efficiency and collaboration.
Strategic location in Almere
Situated just 30 km from Amsterdam, the new headquarters is strategically positioned in close proximity to our existing production facilities in De Vaart business park in Almere, supporting seamless collaboration and operational efficiency.
Setting the example on how to manage the energy use in a business with a production facility, warehouses and offices in times of the energy transition, we’re integrating 6,296 solar panels with Alfen’s very own EV charging stations in the parking lot, as well as our in house produced mobile energy storage systems and 3 transformer substations that we’re installing at the new facility. We’re proud to showcase how our own innovations are going to help us embrace sustainability in our operations.
Next steps
Over the upcoming weeks, Alfen will connect the dots to seamlessly integrate the production lines for transformer substations and set up the offices. The next step is the relocation, commencing with the production lines, one line at a time.
