Domain Architect Embedded Software

What will you do?

As the Domain Architect Embedded Software at Alfen, you are the go-to expert within the Embedded Software Engineering discipline. You will develop and safeguard the architecture within this domain, ensuring it aligns perfectly with the product strategy and technical roadmap of Alfen’s EV Charging Solutions.

You translate business needs into thoughtful and scalable technical solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with product teams, engineers, and fellow Domain Architects. You’re a key figure in the development of our innovative products and contribute to standardization and technical continuity.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain embedded software architectures that meet technical requirements, standards, and business objectives.

• Support product and platform development with technical frameworks, guidelines, and best practices.

• Safeguard consistency, quality, and applicability of design choices through design reviews.

• Initiate and share technological developments and market insights within your discipline.

• Align with other Domain Architects to ensure a cohesive overall architecture.

• Support engineers and product teams with technical questions and decision-making.

• Document architectural decisions to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Contribute your expertise to complex tenders and proposal processes.

What do we expect from you?

You are analytically strong, able to structure complex issues, and have a clear vision for the development of your field. You are curious about technological innovation and know how to steer technical direction within a multidisciplinary environment.

You also bring:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical field (such as Computer Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or Electrical Engineering).

• Proven experience in embedded software architecture.

• Knowledge of Scrum/Agile methodologies.

• Preferably, ISAQB Foundation certification as a software architect.

• Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
