Vattenfall built a new hybrid energy park, consisting of solar panels, wind turbines and an energy storage system at Haringvliet in the Netherlands. The total capacity of the park is 60MW, enough to supply renewable energy to 40,000 households. Alfen supplied a 12MWh energy storage system, connected to the hybrid wind and solar park.

The hybrid energy park consists of six wind turbines with a capacity of approximately 22MW, a solar park consisting of 124,000 solar panels with a total capacity of 38MW and a 12MWh energy storage system fitted with BMW batteries that are also used in their electric vehicles. The energy park is expected to be fully operational in September 2020.
