Internship Sustainability Analytics
Location: Almere | Internship | 32–40 hours per week | Start: September 2026 Are you naturally curious and analytically minded? Then this internship offers the perfect opportunity to put those strengths into practice!
What will you do?
As an intern within Alfen’s Sustainability Team, you will contribute to making our products and processes more sustainable. You will be a fully integrated member of the team, receiving strong guidance while also having the freedom to work independently on your own projects.
During this internship, your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing and running sustainability reports for customers and governmental authorities.
• Collecting, verifying, and managing environmental compliance information related to our products.
• Modelling the environmental impact of our products, for example through components of LCA-style (Life Cycle Assessment) analyses.
Do you have a university project that forms part of your internship requirements? We would be happy to explore opportunities to integrate it into your internship.
Who are you?
We are looking for a student who excels at analysing, structuring, and logical reasoning. Someone who enjoys working with technical data and likes to explore topics in depth.
You recognize yourself in the following:
• You are currently enrolled in a university degree programme.
• Preferably, you are studying Environmental Sciences, Materials Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
• You have completed analytical or quantitative coursework.
• You are proficient in Excel and enjoy working with data.
• You have a strong interest in sustainability and feel comfortable analysing technical and environmental data.
About the Team
Alfen’s Sustainability Team consists of two specialists and a director. Together, they work closely with colleagues from the Strategy and Investor Relations teams, forming one closely connected group. In total, the team consists of six young professionals between the ages of 26 and 34.
The team culture is open, collaborative, and informal. Colleagues are supportive and always willing to help and share ideas. Maintaining personal connections is considered important as well. For example, on Tuesdays the team often enjoys lunch together outside the office, a great opportunity to connect with colleagues in a relaxed setting.
