Field Service Specialist

What will you do?

As a Field Service Specialist at Alfen, you’ll play a vital role in supporting and optimizing our Field & Support operations for our cutting-edge energy systems. You’ll work hands-on in the field—on-site with clients and in collaboration with internal teams—to ensure optimal performance of our smart grids, energy storage systems, and EV infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include performing on-site maintenance, resolving technical malfunctions, and providing expert-level service to keep our systems running efficiently. Your impact ensures the reliability of Alfen’s sustainable energy solutions across a wide range of installations and customers.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Alfen systems at customer locations.

• Troubleshooting and resolving electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues.

• Supporting commissioning and configuration of systems during rollout phases.

• Documenting service activities and providing clear communication to clients and internal teams.

• Contributing to process improvements and product feedback based on field experience.

What do we ask of you?

We're looking for a proactive, technically skilled professional with a hands-on mentality and structured working style. You’re service-oriented, resilient under pressure, and committed to maintaining the high quality of Alfen’s technical systems.

Your profile:

• A completed MBO level 4 education, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar field service role.

• Familiarity with electrical systems, technical drawings, and diagnostics tools.

• Comfortable working independently in the field and traveling regularly within the Netherlands.

• Available for at least 32 hours per week.

• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
