Field Service Technician
Join Alfen as a Field Service Technician. Ensure our energy solutions operate at peak performance and contribute to a reliable and sustainable energy supply. Work independently in the field, resolve technical issues, and maintain our systems for customers both domestically and internationally.
What will you do?
As a Field Service Technician, you are Alfen’s first point of contact in the field. You will perform maintenance on our systems and resolve malfunctions on-site. Whether it concerns energy storage systems, transformer substations, or EV charging solutions — you will ensure everything is restored quickly and safely. You will collaborate closely with our Support Engineers and document your activities accurately to support continuous service improvement.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
- Performing annual maintenance according to schedule and contractual agreements.
- Diagnosing issues, replacing components, and restoring systems.
- Conducting visual and physical inspections and measurements.
- Collaborating with Support Engineers to resolve malfunctions efficiently.
- Reporting used parts and logging fault data in the ticketing system.
- Maintaining a well-equipped service van with tools and spare parts.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and customer support.
- Complying with safety regulations and reporting incidents.
What do we ask of you?
We are looking for a self-reliant and solution-oriented technician with a customer-focused mindset. You are flexible, precise, and able to communicate effectively with both customers and colleagues. Additionally, you meet the following requirements:
- A completed MBO level 4 education in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical field service role within a B2B environment.
- Knowledge of or experience with power electronics.
- A valid category B driving licence.
- VCA VOL and NEN 3140/3840 certification, or willingness to obtain them.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English; German and/or French is considered an advantage.
- Willingness to work in shifts (including weekends and evenings) and to travel internationally (up to 75% of your time).
