Senior Project Engineer BESS

What will you do?

As a Senior Project Engineer BESS at Alfen, you take full technical ownership of modular energy storage projects—from sales proposal to installed and tested systems ready for operation. You work closely with project leaders, installation managers, designers, assembly teams, and customers to deliver safe, functional, and compliant solutions.

Your key responsibilities:

• Translate customer-specific requirements into creative and functional electrical solutions.
• Design, review, and adapt electrical diagrams, engineering drawings, and parts lists.
• Perform electrical calculations and ensure compliance with national and international standards.
• Coordinate with internal and external technical teams for alignment and consistency.
• Support product and control solution testing in the field.
• Provide technical input during pre-sales and after-sales activities.
• Actively contribute to product and quality improvements.

What do we ask of you?

You are a technically skilled engineer who enjoys translating complex customer challenges into practical electrical designs. You are analytical, precise, and thrive in a project-driven environment. You bring:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Technology, or similar.
• Strong understanding of power systems and ability to analyze and improve electrical drawings.
• Experience with MS Office, PDM, and ERP systems.
• Ability to organize work systematically and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive mindset with a drive for innovation and problem-solving.
• Good command of English (Dutch is a plus; lessons available at Alfen).
• VCA VOL safety diploma (or willingness to obtain one).
