What will you do?
As an Embedded Software Engineer at Alfen, you’ll be involved in developing innovative embedded software for our products in the field of energy storage and EV charging solutions. You’ll be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and optimizing software that directly contributes to a stable, sustainable, and intelligent electricity grid.
You’ll work within multidisciplinary project teams on both New Product Development (NPD) and Product Life Cycle (PL) projects. In your role, you’ll be involved from analysis to delivery, ensuring robust and maintainable software solutions.
Your key tasks include:

Analyzing product definitions and translating functional requirements into embedded software solutions.

Developing, programming, and testing embedded software using various programming languages.

Collaborating with hardware engineers to create and validate integrated solutions.

Supporting prototype construction, testing, and production introductions.

Researching new technologies and contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.

Documenting software in the technical construction file and contributing to manuals.

Applying coding guidelines and contributing to code quality within the team.
What do we ask of you?
You’re a driven engineer who thrives on technical challenges and impactful software development. You are analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy collaborating within a technical team. Futhermore, you are resident in the Netherlands and eligible to work here. You also bring:

A bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience with embedded software development and various programming languages.

Affinity with hardware and knowledge of real-time systems and networks.

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and preferably with test-driven development.

Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
