Project Engineer Smart Grid Solutions

What will you be doing?

As a Project Engineer SGS, you design electrical solutions that truly make an impact. You translate complex customer requirements into new product and project configurations that fit within Alfen’s standardized portfolio. You work on solutions for low‑ and medium‑voltage networks and ensure they meet all technical, safety and quality standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Translating customer requirements into creative, functional and standards‑compliant electrical designs.
• Designing, reviewing and optimizing electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Developing functional control concepts into concrete products and production orders (in collaboration with Work Preparation).
• Performing calculations to verify designs against technical specifications, component choices and feasibility.
• Supporting product, control system and field testing activities.
• Aligning product specifications with customers and suppliers, both nationally and internationally.
• Supporting pre‑sales, project management and after‑sales activities.
• Contributing actively to product improvements, standardization and engineering process optimization.

What do we expect from you?

You are a technically skilled engineer with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to translate complex problems into smart, reliable electrical designs. You work accurately, are analytically strong and feel at home in a project‑driven engineering environment. You bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a comparable field.
• Additional qualifications as a High‑Voltage Specialist or Design Specialist.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical design and project‑based engineering.
• Experience with MS Office, CAD tools, PDM and ERP systems.
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
