Alfen is organised into three business lines: Smart grid solutions, Energy storage systems and EV charging equipment. Within each of these business units, Alfen offers challenging jobs in various departments.
The three business lines:
| Smart grid solutions | Alfen develops and manufactures transformer substations for grid operators and designs and develops local electricity grids and energy solutions for solar parks and the greenhouse horticulture sector, for example. This increasingly includes proprietary software, back-end management for remote management and complex energy management systems. |

| Energy storage systems | In the field of energy storage, Alfen is active in the development, production and installation of a wide range of modular energy storage systems under its TheBattery brand. Energy storage is used by energy companies, grid operators, large and small energy producers and traders, EV (fast) charging service providers and industrial companies. |
| EV charging equipment | Alfen has been developing and manufacturing charging stations for all types of electric vehicles since 2008. Alfen's EV charging business unit supplies a range of smart and internet-connected EV charging points for use at home, at work and in public areas. These charge points are available in various types of charging capacity and functionality. We have a leading market position in the Netherlands and solid market positions in other European countries. |

R&D & Engineering
We pride ourselves on developing our innovative products in-house. This gives us clout, flexibility and strong distinctiveness. In our R&D & Engineering department, we work on the innovations that will shape the energy landscape of the future. We have specialist teams in software, electrical engineering, power electronics and mechanical engineering.
