Director Product Management – Energy Storage Systems (ESS)

What will you do?

You define and steer the full ESS product portfolio, from long‑term strategy to end‑of‑life. You lead the Product Management team and collaborate closely with Sales, R&D, Operations, Marketing, and regional teams. You ensure strong alignment between market needs, technological capabilities, and our global business ambitions.

Strategic leadership & portfolio direction

• Develop the ESS portfolio vision and multi‑year product strategy.
• Define portfolio priorities, KPIs, roadmaps and business objectives.
• Drive value creation, profitability, and international product alignment.
• Develop and manage the portfolio’s pricing strategy.
• Represent product strategy at senior leadership level.

Team leadership & department management

• Lead, develop and coach the Product Management team.
• Conduct performance reviews, goal‑setting and talent development.
• Resolve escalations beyond Product Manager accountability.
• Strengthen collaboration across Sales, R&D, Operations and Marketing.

Product development governance

• Ensure product development aligns with strategic direction and market needs.
• Approve requirements, business cases, and go/no‑go decisions.
• Monitor development progress, risks, execution quality, and cross‑team alignment.
• Safeguard regulatory compliance and lifecycle governance.
• Support TPMs and CPMs in backlog prioritization and project execution.

Lifecycle, market & stakeholder management

• Manage all lifecycle phases including improvements, changes, and discontinuations.
• Engage with international sales offices and stakeholders.
• Monitor performance, competitive landscape, and customer feedback.
• Lead high‑impact customer interactions and strategic partnerships.
• Communicate portfolio insights and decisions to internal and external stakeholders.

What do we ask of you?

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of Product Management or comparable leadership experience.
• Strong experience with complex product portfolios and cross‑functional environments.
• Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills.
• Experience with lifecycle governance and international coordination.
• Strong understanding of ESS or adjacent energy transition domains is highly preferred.

Where will you work?

You report directly to the BU Director ESS and collaborate with commercial, technical, and operational teams to grow and transform our ESS product portfolio.
